Middletown Interim Police Chief Resigns, Town Council Appoints Acting Chief

9 March 2017 News

At a closed work session Monday night, March 6, the Middletown Town Council unanimously voted to accept the resignation of interim Chief Warren Houde. Town Council received information last week from Frederick County Sheriff’s Office about an issue with Houde. It is unclear what that issue was.

At 3:00pm yesterday, March 8, Lenny Millholland was appointed as acting police chief in Middletown to fill the void. Millholland currently serves as a sheriff in Frederick County and contacted the commonwealth attorney’s office to make sure there would be no issues with doing both jobs.

Houde served just two months as interim police chief. Houde had previously been an officer in the department. He replaced Phillip Breeden on January 9, when Breedan was not reappointed for the position.
