NAACP and WPD launch a new program

The Winchester Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and Winchester Police Department (WPD) implement a new program.

The Community Organized Response and Education or C.O.R.E. program is designed to communicate with community members.

Through this initiative Community members will Organize and Respond by increasing communication with law enforcement.

At the same time WPD hopes to Educate community members on police practices and polices.

The first meeting on the program will be at the Timbrook Public Center on June 15 at 5 p.m..

The meeting will include an opportunity to learn about the school resource officer program as well as the juvenile justice system.
