
New Market elects new mayor, town council members

The Town of New Market will see a new mayor for the first time in eight years after Larry Bompiani, who was running unopposed, was elected Tuesday.
Bompiani, a current a town council member, will succeed Douglas Bradley, who has served as New Market’s mayor since 2012.
Bradley chose not to seek reelection and instead ran for one of the three open seats on town council. Candidate Bob King and Bradley both received 68 votes, according to unofficial election results. Incumbent Scott Wymer received 63 votes and will serve a third term on town council.
