New Warren EDA Director Updates Supervisors

6 June 2019 Front Royal/Warren County News

The Front Royal-Warren County Economic Development Authority’s new director updated County Supervisors on his first month in office.

Doug Parsons spoke to the Board of Supervisors during its Tuesday (6/4/2019) meeting, where he presented his first quarterly report. He said that the EDA is feeling much better about its understanding of its revenue, expenses, debt, and capital projects after financial management work with its accountant. Parsons said the EDA has also taken a close look at properties to determine which are losing money and should possibly be sold. The EDA is sharing documents with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership as well regarding all of its sites at least 25 acres in size. This will allow the VEDP to rank those sites using a tier system, making the higher-ranking sites more competitive for attracting local businesses.
