News Maker Greg Rogers on the line workers’ rodeo

Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) is participating in the annual Gaff and Go or Line Workers’ Rodeo starting May 19 in Doswell Virginia.

We spoke with SVEC President and CEO Greg Rogers about the event in our latest news maker.

News makers are sponsored by Warren County Together We are Community.

Greg tells us about this fun filled competition which is a little over an hour and a half from Northern Virginia at the State Fairgrounds.

He also tells us that the event is more then fun and games as competitors are competing for a slot in the national championships.

Greg explains that the rodeo is free for the general public to watch and really shows the skills that line workers use everyday in every kind of weather.
