Nomination Period Opens for Top of VA Valor Awards

11 July 2019 Winchester Frederick County Clarke County News

The Top of Virginia Regional Chamber announced Wednesday (7/10/2019) that nominations are now open for the 7th Annual Valor Awards.

The Valor Awards honor public safety personnel and ordinary citizens in Winchester, Clarke, and Frederick Counties for their courageous and often life saving actions. Last year, over 30 public safety personnel and citizens were honored for their acts of courage. Categories include the Citizen’s Award, Lifesaving Award, and the Awards of Valor.

Nominations can come from staff with the local police and sheriffs’ departments, fire departments, or from community citizens. They’re due by August 30, 2019, and nominees will be revealed in September; the Regional Chamber will hold its Valor Awards Ceremony on the 1st of November at the Clarion Inn.
