12 June 2020 Covid19 Front Royal/Warren County Winchester Frederick County News
During a press briefing yesterday, Gov. Northam revealed plans for the reopening of higher education institutions.
Northam said colleges and universities will be able to reopen their campuses to in-person classes this fall, but must follow all public health guidelines and meet certain public health conditions to do so.
Similar to pre-K-12 schools, institutions of higher learning will need to submit reopening plans. The plans must be approved by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia.
Plans must address the following:
- Repopulation of the campus
- Monitoring health conditions to detect infection
- Containment to prevent spread of the disease when detected
- Shutdown considerations if necessitated by severe conditions and/or public health guidance
