NPS offer lifetime passes for Veterans and Gold Star Families

Starting Veterans Day Friday Nov. 11 the National Park Service (NPS) including the Shenandoah National Park announced that they will make lifetime passes for U.S. Military Veterans and Gold Star Families available.

This pass allows free entry to more than 2,000 federal recreation sites over 400 million acres of public lands.

Veterans can present one of their four types of acceptable IDs at the entrance station to gain access.

Types of IDs include Department of Defense, Veteran Health or ID card or Veteran designation on a state issued U.S. drivers license or ID card.

Gold Star Families can obtain information, self-certify their qualifications and download a voucher here.
