Obama Visits 10th District, Campaigns for Wexton

Former President Barack Obama visited Virginia’s 10th District ahead of today’s midterm elections.

The former commander in chief met with incumbent Democratic Senator Tim Kaine and State Senator Jennifer Wexton in Fairfax yesterday (11/05/2018) to offer his support to the candidates. Senator Kaine is in a reelection bid for his Senate seat against Republican challenger Corey Stewart today, while Wexton is challenging Republican incumbent Barbara Comstock in the 10th district, which stretches all the way from Fairfax to Frederick County. President Obama described Wexton as “part of [a] remarkable wave of candidates running across the country.”

Polls in Virginia opened today at 6 a.m. and will close at 7 p.m. After polls close, you can keep track of Wexton and Comstock’s 10th district race, as well as the 6th district race between Jennifer Lewis and Ben Cline and your local council and mayoral elections live from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. on The River 95.3.
