LURAY, Va. (AP) — Firefighters in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley are searching the rubble of a brick home where four people were killed in a fire.

Officials say the fire Tuesday in Luray killed two adults and two young children. Firefighters were searching Wednesday for any additional victims.

The Daily News-Record reports that a young boy was able to escape the fire and sought assistance.

Page County Sheriff Chad Cubbage has not released the names of the victims.

The fire is being investigated locally and with the assistance of the Virginia State Police, among others.

The fire is among the deadliest in Page County history.
