Officials Consider Improvements to Senseny Road

28 November 2018 Winchester Frederick County News

Improvements to Senseny Road were discussed during a Monday meeting of the Frederick County Transportation Committee.

Improving Senseny Road  is the 19th most important transportation priority in the Frederick County Board of Supervisors’ Capital Improvements Plan; Virginia State Police data shows that there have been 21 crashes on Senseny this year, seven of which caused injuries.

On Monday, Transportation Committee members discussed adding additional turn lanes on either side of the road at its intersection with Crestleigh Drive, and maybe even a stoplight. However, they also agreed to ask the Virginia Department of Transportation for a complete study on the matter before taking any further action, a measure that will help them determine whether or not those actions would truly solve the safety issues the road faces.
