Old Town Winchester Plans a Weekday Farmer’s Market

9 April 2018 News

Old Town Winchester is adding a weekday farmers’ market to the Loudoun Street Mall.

This new feature would be in addition to its current weekend market, which runs Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The new Summer Midday Market will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursdays in front of the Shenandoah Valley Civil War Museum over the course of June, July, and August. Only one vendor has signed up to sell produce at the Thursday market so far; however, Downtown Manager Jennifer Bell was quoted as saying that more participants are being sought out, and that applications are being accepted up until April 20th. Saturday’s market has ten vendors this season, and will be selling goods including fresh beef and poultry, eggs, homemade bread, maple products, gourmet mushrooms, and jams and jellies.
