Old Town Winchester splash pad to remain closed for 2020 season
30 June 2020 Covid19 Winchester News
For the protection of public health and safety, the City of Winchester made the difficult decision to close the Old Town Winchester splash pad and adjoining public restrooms for the remaining 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The splash pad and restrooms are located on the south end of the Loudoun Street Mall. The splash pad features 20 spray heads that dance up and down at multiple levels each minute. After dark, the water is illuminated in bright colors.
“The splash pad is a popular destination in Old Town and we regret having to make this decision, but the safety of our community is priority,” said Facilities Maintenance and Parking Division Manager Corey MacKnight. “However, if the opportunity to reopen the facilities becomes available, we will reconsider.”
