One Injured in Browntown Garage Fire

BROWNTOWN – A garage caught fire at 80 Smelser Lane in Browntown Tuesday evening. The garage fire spread to a main home and shed on the property, one person was injured.
Warren County Fire and Rescue units along with Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at 80 Smelser to find the garage ablaze at 7:09 p.m. Fire was already spreading to the adjoining family home and shed. One occupant was in the garage, while several others were in the main home. The occupant in the garage escaped out of an open window, but was injured in the process. The occupants of the home were not able to escape. One exit was blocked by the heat of the fire. The secondary exits were blocked by furniture. Firefighters were able to remove the occupants from the home within a few minutes of arrival. They were not hurt during the blaze or the rescue attempt.
Firefighters of WCFR were able to contain the fire within 38 minutes of the initial report. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Warren County Fire Marshal’s Office has requested that anyone with information regarding the beginning of the garage fire to contact them immediately.
