Opioid Charges Added to Man Arrested in August
28 December 2017 News
On August 6th, 2017, at approximately 6:30 in the morning, officers of the Winchester Police Department were called to the Winchester Medical Center for a report of an intoxicated male who was outside the ER. The intoxicated individual was identified as Anthony Williams of Woodbridge, Virginia and was arrested and then searched. Substances that were suspected to be opioids were found on his person. Williams was taken into custody for a Drunk in Public charge and the items that were found in a clear plastic bag in his pocket were subsequently sent off to a testing facility to determine if any were narcotics.
The lab results came back this week and identified the items in the bag as carfentanyl, fentanyl, and heroin.
On his court date for the previous charges, Williams appeared in court and was also arrested for contempt of court and with possession of a controlled substance charge. Anthony Williams was then transported to the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center to await his next trial.
