Pedestrian Killed on Harry Byrd Highway

CLARKE COUNTY – The Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash in Clarke County.
A 2000 Kenworth tractor trailer was traveling west on Route 7, when a male pedestrian walked into the westbound travel lanes. The tractor trailer did not have enough time to stop and was unable to avoid striking the pedestrian. Following the collision the trailer came to a stop and the driver investigated the crash. The crash occurred at 9:32 a.m on Monday morning.
The pedestrian, Kevin L. Talley died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured.
No charges have been filed for the incident.
