We were live in the studio today for a conversation with Warren County Administrator Doug Stanley to get a Coronavirus update as well as other projects happening in and around Warren County. Doug explained what’s been opened completely (the government center) and what’s opened with restrictions (outdoor facilities like the playgrounds, shelters, trails & skate park.) He also told us the pool will be opening in the coming weeks with some restrictions as well. We talked about the upcoming Board of Supervisors meeting that will be held in-person; he recognized Emily Ciarrocchi for her outstanding efforts during the pandemic; and told us about the current status of the recent COVID-19 outbreak at RSW Regional Jail. We also discussed the impact the virus and shutdown has had on county tax revenue. In the second segment he talked about the new Finance Director, Jonathon Munch who started in that position today and expressed his sincere gratitude to the former staff members (Carolyn Stimmel & Andre Fletcher) for their help and support while a new director was being researched. We talked about the impact DeAnna Cheatham has had as the director of the Department of Social Services and how deeply she will be missed when she leaves for a new position in Williamsburg early in July. He shared an update from the Development Review Committee meeting that took place on May 27 and told us about potential new businesses as well as the relocation of several existing ones. We talked tourism, wayfinding signs, Rivermont Fire Station, the status of Five Guys & Chipotle in Riverton Commons and the Equus Warehouse facility.
