Business Mentoring Available from SCORE
1 June 2020
We pre-recorded today’s conversation with Jim Martin, District Director of SCORE, VA via Zoom to talk about the organization and the various mentoring opportunities they provide – at no cost – to businesses and those interested in starting a business.
SCORE, the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, is dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals. Since 1964, they have provided education and mentorship to more than 11 million entrepreneurs. They are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
Jim explained two of the COVID-19 related funding mechanisms that have recently become available: Payroll Protection Plan (PPP) and Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL.) He told us how they work, the parameters for potential repayment and why businesses should still consider applying regardless of the amounts reported to be still available.
