Clarke County’s Community Response to COVID-19
31 March 2020
We recorded today’s episode from the Clarke County Government Center on Monday afternoon (March 30) for a conversation with Felicia Hart, Interim Director of Economic Development & Tourism, David Weiss, Chairman of the Clarke County Board of Supervisors, Chris Boies, Clarke County Administrator, and Brian Lichty, Director of Fire & EMS.
We talked about the community response to the COVID-19 health crisis including safeguards they’ve put in place for their staff and residents. David gave us a “state of the county” amid the crisis and talked about the various agencies who have stepped up and made dramatic changes to their services in order to safely continue to serve the residents of Clarke County. Felicia gave us details for state & federal funding opportunities available for local businesses and directed listeners to the resource page on the county’s website: http://yesclarkecounty.com/covid-19/
Bryan talked about the emergency response: how fire & EMS agencies have made changes to their protocol; the impact of Governor Northam’s recent Executive Order 55 and offered advice and suggestions for residents to stay safe both in their homes and while interacting with emergency personnel.
