Community Health: Virtual Health Fair
18 March 2021
We pre-recorded our conversation via Zoom today to chat with Valley Health’s Mike Wade, chair of the Valley Health Virtual Health Fair happening (online) March 20 – 27, 2021.
Mike explained what went into making the decision to take the health fairs that Valley Health does twice a year to an online platform this year. He also gave us a quick rundown of what you can expect to find/learn at the event this year.
The week-long event will offer a full schedule of online health and fitness programs on a variety of topics and expanded opportunities for free in-person heart and vascular screenings and reduced-cost blood work at Valley Health locations from Luray, VA to Martinsburg and Romney, WV.
People throughout our region will have an opportunity to log in and meet experts, ask questions, and learn over the course of the week:
• Virtual programs including morning fitness classes, “Ask the Health Professional”, and other programs and videos on a variety of topics throughout the week.
• Reduced-cost blood work vouchers for sale all week, redeemable at any Valley Health outpatient lab by July 1. (Check the website: more tests at a lower price!)
• Free heart attack risk screenings at 7 regional locations
• Free carotid and EKG screenings on Saturday at the Winchester Medical Center Conference Center.
