James Wood High School announced that its FCCLA student leadership is coordinating a series of events to raise awareness about epilepsy. These events will culminate during the JWHS varsity basketball game on February 6th at 6 p.m. The project will not only raise awareness about epilepsy, but will also raise funds to be donated to the Virginia Epilepsy Awareness Foundation.
The Warren County School Board voted unanimously to maintain Catherine Bower as the chair of the School Board and C. Douglas Rosen as the vice chair. The School Board also decided to combine 4 4 ½ hour bus driver contracts into two eight hour contracts, with hopes that this move will provide the district with more flexibility. The district often struggles with dispatching services along the almost 12 miles it covers; in addition to this work, the two bus drivers would drive a midday shuttle and act as substitute drivers.
