The Virginia Department of Education has accredited all Frederick County Public Schools for 2018-19. Seventeen schools are accredited and one school is accredited with Conditions. This year’s accreditation ratings are based on a school accountability system that’s been revised by the Virginia Board of Education and is taking effect for the first time this year. The new system provides a more comprehensive view of school quality while encouraging continuous improvement for all schools and placing an increased emphasis on closing achievement gaps among students.
