Extension Office Friday: Meet Vanessa

Karen has worked as an Extension Agent in the Northern Shenandoah Valley since 1987. She currently specializes in programming related to family financial management, housing, and consumer education, serving Clarke, Frederick, Page, Shenandoah, and Warren counties. She told us about her experience in the Diabetes Education program that Vanessa will be operating and how it helped her eat healthier and lose weight. Associate Extension Agent, Vanessa plans and delivers educational programs focused on nutrition and health. Programs are developed based on the needs of communities within Frederick, Clarke, Page, Shenandoah, and Warren County. She told us about her first few months in this new role, about her history at Project Hope and all the goals and plans she has for developing programs at the extension office.
