Most everyone has seen, and maybe even caught a sunfish from a farm pond, but did you know that there is an Ocean Sunfish?  There sure is, and it’s much larger than the pond version.  The Ocean Sunfish, or Common Mola, can be up to eight feet long and weigh as much as 2,000 pounds.  The Mola is one of the heaviest bone fish in the world.   It resembles a fish head with a tail, and its main body is flattened laterally. Sunfish can be as tall as they are long when their dorsal and ventral fins are extended.  They eat mostly small fish they find in the tropical waters they call home.
