Most of us grew up on classic cartoons, Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry and Chip and Dale.  That last one, Chip and Dale, was created by Walt Disney Production in 1943.  Their names are a pun based on the famous 18th-century cabinet maker and furniture designer Thomas Chippendale. as suggested by a Disney story artist named Bill “Tex” Henson.  Chip is typically the one who plays it safe, is focused, and having a mind for logical scheming. Dale, on the other hand, is more laid-back, dim-witted, and impulsive, and has a very strong sense of humor. Originally the two looked very much alike, but as a way to tell them apart, some differences were introduced: Chip has a small black nose and two centered protruding teeth, whereas Dale has a large dark red nose and a prominent gap between his buckteeth. Chip is also depicted as having smooth hair on top of his head while Dale’s tends to be ruffled.  The two mischief makers did battle with Mickey Mouse, Pluto but most often Donald Duck.  They were also featured in their own comic book from the mid 50’s through the mid 80’s.  In 1989 the two, who by the way haven’t aged a bit, embarked on a brand new adventure, forming a detective agency and launching a brand new series called Chip And Dale Rescue Rangers.
