Fun Fact January 7, 2020

7 January 2020

I’d like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony.  I’d like to buy the world a Coke and keep it company.  Remember that old television ad?  You can buy a Coke from the United States in most every country in the world with the exception of two.  North Korea and Cuba are “no U. S. Coke zones” because of long term U. S. Trade embargos that are in place.  That doesn’t necessary mean you can’t get a Coke, but it may be harder to find and will cost you more than a typical local fizzy drink.  If you are able to find a Coke you should know that the drink you consume most likely would not have been bottled in the United States.  In the case of Cuba, the soft drink would most likely come from bottling factory in Mexico, where there are not trade embargos in place.  Until a few years ago, Myanmar used to be a “no Coke zone” that is until Coke invested 200 million dollars to build the their first bottling plant there.
