15 March 2021

Beware of today!  Beware the ides of March.  A soothsayer warned Julius Cesar about it.  Shakespeare wrote about it and the words stuck and branded the phrase, and the date, March 15th, as a dark and gloomy day. According to History dot com the origin of the Ides of March is actually a non-threatening story. Kalends, Nones and Ides were ancient markers used to reference dates relating to phases of the moon. Ides simply referred to the first new moon of a given month, which usually fell between the 13th and 15th.  At one time the Ides of March signified the new year, which meant celebrations and rejoicing.
