Municipal Monday with Warren County Administrator, Doug Stanley

19 November 2018

We were in the studio for Municipal Monday with Warren County Administrator, Doug Stanley to get an update on the projects and happenings going on in and around Warren County.

We discussed reassessments including the assessors hearings that are scheduled to begin on Monday, November 26, 2018. You can download the information including dates, times and contact information here: Warren County Reassessment Notice 2018 Discussion also included a reminder about the county tax bills and a delinquent tax sale happening on December 12, 2018 at 11am at the Warren County Government Center.

Doug gave us an overview of a few of the topics discussed at the Development Review Committee that included Backroom Brewery’s expansion, a proposed communications tower on Happy Creek Road as well as several new restaurants opening in downtown and Riverton Commons Shopping Center.

In addition we talked about the holiday schedule for the Warren County Transfer Station & Warren County Citizen’s Convenience Sites, plus got an update on projects such as Rivermont Fire Station, a potential new fire & rescue training facility as well as the current status of the potential Clarke County/Warren County boundary readjustment at Shenandoah Farms.

Finally, we discussed the current fundraiser, Coats for Kids. The Front Royal Rotary Club in partnership with Warren County Department of Social Services is in the process of raising $3,000 to purchase coats through Operation Warm.  Last year, as part of the Club’s annual Doc Smith Christmas Basket Program, which provided 145 boxes of food to needy families in the Front Royal-Warren County community, the Club gave out 134 coats to children in need identified by the Department of Social Services. While the Club received a number of small donations last year, several businesses and individuals supported the project through direct donations and allowing donation boxes to be placed in their business during the holiday season. Anyone interested in donating to the program can drop off donations at the following locations:

  • Warren County Administration Office at the Warren County Government Center – 220 North Commerce Avenue, Suite 100
  • Department of Social Services at the Health and Human Services Complex
  • Various donation boxes in the community at businesses such as the Warren County Government Center, Health and Human Services Complex, Blake and Company, United Bank, IHOP, RSW Regional Jail, Royal Cinemas, Royal Family Bowling Center, Royal Oak Animal Clinic, Southern States, and the Apple House.
