Our (pre-recorded) Strolling Strasburg episode this month took us on a tour of three Strasburg businesses with Olivia Hilton: Interim (soon to be permanent I hope!) Director of Community Development for the Town of Strasburg.

Our first stop was to chat with Melanie at Clip & Curl Beauty Salon about their 50 year anniversary. She told us how her mother started the business in 1971 and gave us some insight into the history they’ve been a part of. We talked about their beauty services and learned about “red-light therapy.” Clip & Curl Beauty Salon is located at 121 E. King Street in Strasburg and can be reached via phone: (540) 465-5731.

Next, we popped into Strasburg Hobbies and talked with Mike about his slot car clubs and races. We saw a few screech down the track (you can hear them in the background) while Olivia commended Mike on being open late into the evening and for his community support. For more information about Strasburg Hobbies, visit their website: http://strasburghobbies.com/ and follow them on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/strasburghobbies

Finally, we landed at The Pancake Underground – the newest tenant to W. King Street. Shenan explained their journey from the Pacific Northwest back to her family’s farm in Shenandoah County and how the food truck turned restaurant thrived during the pandemic requiring a larger, indoor space.
