We pre-recorded today’s conversation via Zoom for Luray/Page County’s edition of Tourism Tuesday with Edie Emmons from Luray/Page County Chamber of Commerce and her guest, Lisa Cubbage from Jordan Hollow Stables.

Lisa walked us through a typical day at the horse farm and explained how the trail rides she offers work. We discussed the long-term relationships she builds with her guides and the COVID-19 safety precautions she’s put in place.

Afternoon Traffic Jam host Lonnie Hill presents Sasha. She is 2 years old and a Shepard/Husky mix. She enjoys a good bone to chew on, being outside, walks, running and playing with her human brothers and treats, especially peanut butter. Lonnie's Fun Fact for Friday April 16, 2021. A different type of animal. I usually try to include an animal in my weekly Fun Facts, but today it's not just one, it's a whole box of animals. This Sunday is National Animal Cracker day. According to National Day Calendar dot com animal crackers first came to the United States in the late 1800s when animal-shaped cookies were imported from England. In 1902, animal crackers officially became known as Barnum’s Animals and the familiar circus train theme of the Barnum and Bailey Circus. Later that year, Nabisco designed the now-familiar box with a string for the Christmas season to hang from the Christmas tree. In 2018, Nabisco, the current maker of Barnum’s Animal Crackers, released the animals from their cages on the train and set them free. The images on the side of the boxes now show the animals roaming freely in nature. In total, 53 different animals have been featured in boxes of animal crackers since 1902. ... See MoreSee Less
