Tourism Tuesday: Pints for Paws, Grilled Cheese/Tomato Soup, and ICE CREAM!!

1 October 2019

We were in the studio for Tourism Tuesday – Shenandoah County edition – with Kary Haun from Shenandoah County Tourism and her guest, Olivia Hilton, Community Development Coordinator for the Town of Strasburg.

Kary gave us the details for a variety of events:

Our conversation with Olivia included details for the upcoming (free admission) Pints for Paws event. The Town of Strasburg has partnered with the Strasburg High FCCLA to bring you puppies, pints, and pumpkins in the Strasburg Square on Sunday, October 27th from 11-3pm. The event will feature: pumpkin painting, raffle baskets, a puppy kissing booth, live music and a puppy costume parade at 1pm. All pups are welcome to enter for a small donation and their chance to win in several categories. All proceeds will go to the Humane Society of Shenandoah County who will be on-site with local pet-friendly vendors and adoptable pups! Fore more information, follow the event on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/2311681435812751/

Olivia also gave us details for the Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup Festival – now in it’s 3rd year – happening on Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 11am – 3pm. Tickets and more information are available on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/2114091735560018/ This event was a sellout last year so Olivia encouraged us to get our tickets early.

Throughout the show we were sampling and enjoying several flavors of ice cream provided by Sugar Creek Ice Cream.
