I spent the day this past Saturday BEING a tourist (for Tourism Tuesday) in the tiny town of Wardensville, WV. It was less than a 30-minute drive from Middletown, VA so it made for a great day trip. We started at Wardensville Garden Market and had a conversation with Angelica Lynch, their Bakery & Market Manager about the organization, their farm, products and the greater good they provide to students in the community. We continued on to Lost River Trading Post but weren’t able to have a conversation with the owners there – but no worries! We’re going back in March to have that chat – stay tuned! Our last stop of the day was at Star Mercantile & MORE – a throwback restaurant with booths that date back decades. They’re famous for their broasted chicken and hand-pattied burgers. As it turned out, the owner Betsy Sayers is also the Mayor of Wardensville WV and we had a great conversation.
