Tourism Tuesday with Tim Smith, Front Royal Visitor’s Center & David Downes with the Virginia Beer Museum
11 October 2016
We were joined in the studio for Tourism Tuesday by co-host, Tim Smith with the Front Royal Visitor’s Center & David Downes with the Virginia Beer Museum. We talked about the newly opened museum, the history of beer and the important role it has played in our state (and nation’s) history. The Virginia Beer Museum is a nonprofit, 501c3 trust composed of several members of the local craft beer industry and legal community. Their goal is to celebrate the success of 200+ breweries in Virginia by offering to tap several of the finest Virginia craft beers. They are open Tuesday – Saturday from noon to 6pm with extended hours on Friday and Saturday. Located in the “Board House” at 16 Chester Street, the museum houses old steins, beer bottles, beer cans and other artifacts and displays to help tell the story of beer. Be sure to LIKE their Facebook page to stay current on their events and updates: https://www.facebook.com/VABeerMuseum/
We also talked with Tim about upcoming events such as the Zombie Walk on October 22 and Hometown Halloween happening on Main Street in Front Royal. New to that event this year is a costume contest and pumpkin carving contest.
