The Valley Business Today: Warren County Habitat for Humanity

4 March 2020

We were in the studio for The Valley Business Today – Front Royal/Warren County edition – with Niki Cales, President of the Front Royal/Warren County Chamber of Commerce. Niki’s guest was Jessica Priest-Cahill, Executive Director of Warren County Habitat for Humanity.

We talked about Jessica’s organization, it’s goals for building 5 new homes for it’s clients in the next 18 months. They will also be accepting applications for their home repair program in the coming months. We discussed the need for volunteers of all skill levels as well as the their fundraising efforts. Jessica also told us about a new meetup that happens every other month for local non-profit organizations.

We discussed an upcoming fundraiser: Build a Nest – Warren County Habitat for Humanity is looking for local builders, craftsmen, and artisans to donate bird houses to be auctioned by Warren County Habitat for Humanity in an online auction. Bird houses should be delivered to the Habitat office at 27 South Royal Avenue (inside the Quality Title Office) by March 20, 2020. Bird houses will be displayed locally from April 1-May 15 and at the Virginia Wine and Craft Festival on May 16. The online auction will open in late April, and bidding will close on May 16, 2020.
