Winchester Brew Works
3 January 2019
The first Shenandoah Valley craft brewery featured in our Shenandoah Valley BeerPod podcast series is Winchester Brew Works. Host, Janet Michael chats with owners *& brewers, Bonnie Landy & Holly Redding about the path to opening their brewery, their background, what they’ve learned along the way and future plans for their brewery.
Their team of owners consists of 2 couples brought together by a mutual love of engineering and beer, which naturally translated into homebrewing. While homebrewing and enjoying the thriving brewery scene in Virginia, somehow they decided that opening their own 3-barrel nano-brewery in Old Town Winchester would be an exciting adventure. Women brewing in Virginia is nothing new – even before Thomas Jefferson made any beer at Monticello, his wife Martha was brewing small batches of beer every two weeks.
Their grand opening was May 7, 2016 and since then, they have been constantly honing their craft and putting together new, inventive recipes to bring you the best tasting room experience possible.
