Police Name Man Killed in I-66 Hit and Run

Virginia State Police have released the name of the man killed in a Tuesday night hit and run on Interstate 66 in Warren County.
55-year-old Steven D. Mackall of Washington, D.C., died at the scene of the accident, which took place shortly after 8:25 p.m. He had been driving one of two pickups traveling eastbound together that night when he was forced to pull over on the right shoulder at mile marker five to attend to a flat tire. Mackall began working on the front driver’s side tire when an eastbound tractor-trailer struck and killed him. Witnesses were only able to describe the tractor-trailer as being white; anyone with any information is asked to call 540-829-7766.
