Puppy dragged behind a truck story is a hoax officials say
21 April 2016 News
FRONT ROYAL, VA–If you have seen stories on Facebook this week about a puppy named “Sugar” that was supposedly dragged behind a truck on April 16, 2016, it appears to be a hoax.
That’s according to a press release from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, which says that a possible scam is circulating on social media, as well as on petition sites. It reportedly says a dog named “Sugar” was dragged behind a truck on April 16, 2016 and was stopped by a sheriff’s deputy.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office has no record of this incident and no complaint has been made, the release states.
A similar incident appears to have occurred last weekend in Warren County, Kentucky, not Virginia.
