REC Accepting Applications for “The Power of Change”
The Rappahannock Electric Cooperative announced Tuesday (7/9/2019) that its “The Power of Change” program is ready to support local charities and non-profit organizations.
The program has been running since 2008 , and has helped groups focused on feeding the hungry, enhancing performing arts programs, and providing crisis support services throughout REC’s service territory. It’s funded by REC member owners from 22 Virginia counties from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Chesapeake Bay. These contributors either voluntarily round up their electric bills to the next whole dollar each month, contribute a set monthly amount, or make a one-time donation. Applications will be accepted now through 5 p.m. on August 9, 2019, and are available at thepowerofchange.org.
