REC restores power after battling 60 mph winds

Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) battled relentless winds that at times produced 60 mile per hour gust from midday through the evening of Apr. 1.
The winds downed trees across many power lines knocking out service to about 8,000 customers throughout the state at the peek of outages.
In fact, South Warren Volunteer Fire Department reported that Route 613 at Bentonville was closed by downed power lines at the railroad crossing.
Route 613 was reported reopened by 12:45 a.m. Apr. 2.
REC with the help of mutual aid crews were able to fully restore power by Sunday night Apr. 2.
