REC warns of scammers
Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) is warning of scammers threatening to disconnect power unless payment is made over the phone.
If you receive a suspicious call keep in mind REC has suspended disconnections at this time.
The Cooperative is not calling to demand payment.
REC will not use collection agencies.
If you receive a call hang up and call REC directly to report the call and secure your account by talking to a real Cooperative representative.
