Rental Inspections Program a Possibility for Front Royal
4 November 2017 News
Poor rental conditions were discussed during a recent Front Royal Town Council public hearing in relation to a proposed property maintenance and rental inspections program. Inspections in this program would cover 300 units in the downtown area and be held every four years, or earlier given a known violation.
Costs to the town have been estimated anywhere between $150,000 and $190,000, and would include hiring an inspector (and perhaps an additional part-time inspector), a secretary, and providing a vehicle. This could result in a tax increase for citizens.
The Front Royal Town Council is tentatively scheduled to discuss the program Monday, Nov. 6, at its work session.
