Repaving coming to Winchester Streets

WINCHESTER – The City of Winchester will begin repaving several streets in the city today.
The first three on the list are Shenandoah Ave. from Cork St. to Eagle Drive. Shenandoah Place from Shenandoah Ave. to the cul-de-sac and finally Shawnee Ave. from Cork St. to the cul-de-sac.
There will be no total road closures, but only one lane will be available to drivers on these streets. Be attentive in the areas and respect any signals from work crews.
UPDATE – The City of Winchester announced the full slate of streets that will be repaved for the 2020 Fiscal Year.
Approximately 9 lane miles of street will be repaved in total, and the goal is to have all streets finished by Thanksgiving of this year. Any streets that are not completed by that time will be finished in the Spring of 2020.
The total cost of the repaving program will be approximately $1 million. The City of Winchester will pay for half of the cost and the other half will be covered by the State Revenue Sharing Funds from the Virginia Department of Transportation.

- Mall Blvd.
- Boscawen St.
- Sharp St.
- George St.
- Scott St.
- Pondview Dr.
- Linden Dr.
- Jubal Early Dr.
