Request to Vacate Approved by Town Council
September 13, 2019
The Town Council of Front Royal approved a request to vacate a 5,443 square foot area of Carter St. during the last Town Council meeting.
Councilman Chris Holloway filed the request so he can build 5 townhouses on the lot. The Council approved the request unanimously with Holloway abstaining.
Several of the Town Councillors made an effort to explain that the request was approved without any special treatment towards Holloway, who is on the Council.
“He was not involved in any of our closed sessions when we discussed this,” Councilwoman Letasha Thompson said. “He was treated like everybody else that comes by with these sorts of requests.”
Holloway said that he’d like the construction to be done “sooner rather than later.”
