Rotary clubs invite community to participate in hunger awareness event
The Northern Shenandoah Valley, Clarke County and Front Royal Rotary clubs invite the community to participate in Rotary Fast — an event to help raise awareness and funds to support hunger initiatives in the U.S. and abroad. The hunger awareness event will take place tomorrow, April 29.
Those who wish to participate should donate $10 if they pledge to fast for the day and $20 to eat normally.
Donations given to the Rotary Club of Northern Shenandoah Valley will fund meals at the Front Royal Light Up Academy and Maisha Home in Uganda. Ongoing support from their primary donor has been drastically reduced due to COVID-19. Donations given to the Rotary Club of Clarke County will support FISH of Clarke County. The mission of FISH is to provide food, clothing, transportation and financial support to the poor and elderly in the Clarke County area. Donations given to the Rotary Club of Front Royal will go to Front Royal-Warren County C-CAP so they may continue providing food and personal items to those in need.
Rotary Fast will support the hungry who are even more vulnerable during the COVID-19 crisis. Help support the hunger initiatives by signing up here.
