Route 340 Crash Kills Front Royal Woman
Virginia State Police are currently investigating a fatal crash that blocked both lanes on Route 340 in Page County yesterday (2/19/2019).
The two-vehicle crash occurred at 5:25 a.m., a tenth of a mile north of Route 700. A 1997 Toyota Avalon was traveling north on 340 when it crossed the center-line and struck a southbound 2010 Honda Civic head on. The driver of the Toyota, 44-year-old Wayne L. Steele Jr. of Rockingham County, was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Civic, 23-year-old Front Royal resident Anna-Marie E. Dalton, died at the scene. Police have said that charges are pending as the investigation into the crash continues.
