Route 7 Collision Kills One in Clarke County

Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash in Clarke County.

The two-vehicle collision happened Monday (4/2/2019) at 12:20 p.m., at the intersection of Route 7 and Route 653, also known as Kimble Road. 72-year-old Harvey J. Owens of Berryville had been driving his 2015 GMC Sierra south on Kimble, and was crossing Route 7 when the accident occurred. He collided with a westbound cement truck there, and sustained injuries that took his life after he was transported to the Winchester Medical Center. The cement truck’s 46-year-old driver was uninjured, and the crash remains under investigation.
