Drug Treatment Program May Come to RSW Regional Jail
31 July 2018 News
The Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail may receive a new intensive drug treatment program.
Jail Superintendent Russ Gilkison is currently in talks with the McShin Foundation, a nonprofit full-service recovery community organization, about adding such a program at not cost to the jail; the foundation received a grant some time ago that would finance operating the program for three years. If put in place, it would complement services already provided by Northwest Community Services. It’s estimated that 90 percent of the people held in RSW are there on a drug-related offense.
