SABF includes yet another surprise guest celebrity

Apr. 28 and 29 the annual Bloomin Wine Fest was held as a part of the 96 annual Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival (SABF).
Despite the weather the event was well attended and marks the beginning of the festivities.
Last night May 1 the sold out Winchester Radiologists Pumps and Perils event was held at the Monument on North Loudoun Street.
In a surprise announcement by SABF Marketing Director Dario Savarese a special appearance by Mary Lou Henner also took place at the event.
Henner is in Winchester working on a new film in production at Shenandoah University (SU).
The former Apple Blossom Firefighters’ Grand Marshal was working on the SU production of Miss. Valentine which centers around Winchester and Apple Blossom according to Savarese.
Savarese reports that once Henner was told that she would be in Winchester at Apple Blossom she jumped at the chance to get involved.
Reportedly Henner said she loves the community and people in it and will be a part of several events in the city according to Savarese.
She even became part of the effort to get Shaquille O’Neal to be a apart of next year’s festivities.
Festival participants should be on the lookout for the Shaq cutout at various Apple Blossom events.
When you find the cutout take a picture with Shaq and tag yourself and Apple Blossom on Social Media to promote the effort to get O’Neal to the festival.
We will have more on that in our May 3 news maker with Savarese at 8:30 a.m. and in the noon hour.
