Salvation Army thanks the community
An email from Celeste Brooks on behalf of the Front Royal Salvation Army expressed thanks to the community for supporting the annual Red Kettle campaign.
The Front Royal Salvation Army’s campaign figures were released showing the group raised over $42,000 thanks to the community’s support.
Salvation Army’s Captain Ann Hawk was very pleased with the results according to the email.
Where the campaign fell short of the $50,000 goal Hawk felt reaching 85 percent of that goal was an accomplishment despite all the set backs.
The uptick in COVID cases did hamper the campaign but the result was better than expected.
The funds raised were able to afford gifts for 111 children in Warren County and Strasburg.
The funds also went toward helping 300 children in Page County.
Gift baskets were given to 49 families and almost 400 seniors received gifts in nursing homes thanks to those funds.
