Scholarships available for those pursuing a career in law enforcement

The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office announced as a reminder that scholarships will become available for those pursuing a career in law enforcement.
The Virginia Sheriff’s Institute is offering the scholarships to any college student or upcoming high school graduate who is motivated to pursue a career in Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice.
The interested person must be at least 18 years of age and a register Virginia voter.
Any student under the age of 18 can apply but they must provide a copy of their government issued ID showing their home address.
The scholarship is open to both full and part time students attending a Virginia College or University majoring in Criminal Justice.
Applications become available Jan. 31 with a deadline of May 1 to apply.
